Can Vivot

Can Vivot is a residential palace in Palma, Spain, formed by joining several neighbouring houses. Its origins reach back to the fourteenth century, while the sober rectangular façade conceals two Mallorcan Baroque courtyards, red marble columns, and Corinthian capitals.

Inside, an imperial staircase divides into three flights and rises towards a three-arched loggia. Stucco, frescoes attributed in part to Giuseppe Dardarone, a private chapel, and a music room with leaded-glass windows reveal the eighteenth-century renovation. Original furniture remains in place, while the library holds books collected by the family across four centuries.

The family has preserved this lived-in house through ten generations of Marquès de Vivot. A four-poster bed carries gold-embroidered curtains made from fabric gifted by Felipe V, linking the rooms to Mallorca’s royal history.
