Sankt Blasius
Sankt Blasius stands in Oberwiesenbach on a hill 514 metres above sea level. Its Baroque façade rises above the village and remains visible from far away, especially from the north and west. The spacious nave follows five axes, while recessed, round-arched windows give the exterior its measured rhythm.
Inside, a mirrored ceiling reflects light across the church’s long interior. Two galleries occupy the western side, resting on wooden columns and displaying scenes from the lives of Saint Blasius and Saint Nicholas. Their painted panels connect the structure’s Baroque form with the stories honoured inside.
The pulpit, completed in 1769, combines reddish-violet, grey-marble and gold details. Small putti surround symbols of faith, hope and love, adding carved movement to the preaching space.
