Daniel

Daniel Tower rises from St. George Church in Nördlingen, Bavaria, as a fifteenth-century landmark with an octagonal shaft and copper-green roof. At about 106 metres, it forms the church’s highest point above the surrounding town.

Four large clocks face different directions, while biblical scenes appear across their faces. More than 300 steep steps lead upward, opening views across Nördlingen’s preserved fourteenth- and fifteenth-century fortifications, the surrounding countryside, and the meteorite crater beyond.

A carillon of bells adds music that carries through the town each day. Inside the church, Gothic architecture meets Baroque details, including an altar and epitaphs, while wooden seats display carved chimeras.
