Palais Meyerbeer
Palais Meyerbeer stands in Nice as a residential building shaped by the decorative ambitions of the Belle Époque. Its façade combines rare brick facing with elaborate ornament.
Adrien Rey designed the building in 1908 for Swiss industrialist Isaac Murisier, creating apartments for private tenants. Painted interiors extend the decorative treatment beyond the street.
A balustrade separates the pavement from the private courtyard, while ground-floor shops include a pharmacy. French heritage protection covers the façades, roofs, garden, vestibule, main staircase, pharmacy, and a third-floor apartment with oriental décor. The building also carries the “Twentieth Century Heritage” label. These details connect one address with Nice’s growth as a fashionable Mediterranean city.
