Palais de la Méditerranée
The Palais de la Méditerranée stands on Nice’s Promenade des Anglais as a hotel and casino complex with a preserved Art Deco frontage. Its nine-storey form combines historic façades with a modern building behind them.
Charles and Marcel Dalmas designed the original complex in 1929 for Frank Jay Gould. Casino rooms, a theatre, restaurant and cocktail bar once made it an arts and entertainment centre, hosting national and international exhibitions. The original hotel closed in 1978, then most of the structure was demolished in 1990 while the façades facing the promenade and Rue du Congrès remained protected.
Today, 187 rooms and 12 suites occupy the building, alongside a restaurant, bar and conference rooms. The fourth-floor rooms all have large balconies, creating the clearest visual detail in this meeting of Nice’s past and present.

The myTuur app is free, and once you are standing at a spot its story starts by itself.
Spots like this one are the stops myTuur strings into tours through Nice. In the app, each story begins where you stand: walk up to a spot and it starts, read it on screen or listen as you go, then follow the route to the next one.
What is myTuur?
