Städtische Riemerschmid Wirtschaftsschule München
Städtische Riemerschmid Wirtschaftsschule München stands near Isartor in Munich, combining a protected historic building with an enduring educational purpose. The four-winged complex forms a small courtyard and displays baroque-influenced Jugendstil, or Art Nouveau.
Anton Riemerschmid and Matthias Reischle founded the school in 1862 as Germany’s first commercial school for girls. Robert Rehlen designed the building, constructed between 1900 and 1901, while renovations in 1978 and from 2012 to 2016 adapted its facilities for modern education.
Economic and administrative studies connect with practical training and international projects. The building’s compact courtyard and four-wing arrangement offer a clear glimpse of early twentieth-century Munich architecture.
