St. Margaret
St. Margaret stands in Munich’s Sendling district as a Roman Catholic church shaped by Michael Dosch’s architectural vision. Its west façade rises beneath an 85.5-metre spire.
Italian High Baroque influences the sculptural exterior, while a broad barrel vault opens the interior above you. Local farmers financed construction, which began in 1902 and finished in 1913 despite financial difficulties.
Inside, a Rococo altar shares the space with wooden sculptures of Saint George and Saint Margaret, created around 1500. The organ first appeared in 1915 and gained expanded capabilities through renovation completed in 2020. The bell tower still holds historic bells, including the oldest survivor of both World Wars.
