Provinzialat

The Provinzialat in Munich combines a historic building, a religious centre, and the German headquarters of the Salesians of Don Bosco. Its architecture brings historical elements into an early twentieth-century appearance.

Built in 1866, the building received a major redesign from architect Josef Lang in 1910. That work shaped the form visible today. Inside stands Anstaltskirche Rosenkranzkönigin, built by A. Biersack between 1890 and 1893.

The church presents late nineteenth-century ecclesiastical architecture through detailed design and religious artworks. Offices for administration and public relations support education and youth work across Germany. The church’s religious artworks keep late nineteenth-century craftsmanship present within this active Catholic centre.
