Bunker Pasing
Bunker Pasing stands at Bäckerstraße 10 in Munich’s Pasing district. The building is a protected architectural monument.
Built in 1941 and 1942, the reinforced-concrete air-raid shelter has six storeys. Architect Karl Meitinger designed this massive structure in Munich. The shelter was built to withstand bombing during the Second World War. Its square footprint supports a pyramid-shaped roof with a distinctive silhouette. Large corner rustication marks the reinforced-concrete façade. These block-like projections give the walls texture and depth. The southern side of the building carries a clock.
Bunker Pasing combines a wartime purpose with carefully defined architectural features. Its roof, rusticated corners and clock belong to the building’s visible character. The exterior reflects Munich’s wartime history and architectural heritage. The Bunker Pasing building remains privately owned. Its protected status recognises both its historical and architectural value.
