Wasserbunker
Wasserbunker is a compact concrete building set among forest in Germany’s protected Eifel landscape. Thick, plain walls and a flat roof give the structure a sturdy, practical form. Narrow openings once provided ventilation and access. A route near the Jägerhaus passes the building, with paths used by walkers and cyclists through woodland and open ground. The quiet setting brings former utility architecture close to the surrounding nature.
The interior once stored or regulated water for nearby settlements and facilities. Its technical purpose supported local water supplies. That role has ended, but the concrete structure remains as a visible trace of earlier infrastructure. Moss and trees partly surround the low walls, while a narrow path curves nearby. Walkers can pause beside this small building and see how essential water management once occupied a place within the forest.
