Historische Sägemühle

Historische Sägemühle stands beside a small stream in the wooded Kluckbachtal, built from timber and stone beneath a shingled roof. Mossy stones, trees and damp valley air surround the low building, while a narrow path leads around its walls.

A wooden waterwheel once drove the saw gate inside, lifting and lowering it to cut long tree trunks into boards. Preserved tools and the original arrangement show how flowing water powered forest work directly where timber was gathered. The mill forms part of a forest educational path, with a stacked charcoal pile nearby offering another glimpse of traditional woodland craft.

Through the open doorway, you can glimpse the heavy wooden saw frame that once followed the water’s rhythm.
