Zelig

Zelig is a cabaret club at Viale Monza 140 in Milan, a city known for fashion, art, history, and nightlife. The venue opened in 1986, shortly after the Derby Club closed. A cooperative led by Giancarlo Bozzo originally managed the club, with artistic direction from Gino and Michele. Gabriele Salvatores also guided its artistic programme during the first year.

The stage has introduced Paolo Rossi, Claudio Bisio, Angela Finocchiaro, and other comedians to Italian audiences. Comedy remains central here. In 1996, the venue worked with Italia 1 to broadcast performances from its stage, creating the television series Zelig – Facciamo cabaret. Aldo, Giovanni and Giacomo, Luciana Littizzetto, and other performers helped turn the series into a hit.

The venue now operates as AREAZELIG, with performances ranging from stand-up comedy to circus arts. That range keeps the room connected to both Milan’s live comedy scene and Italy’s wider entertainment culture.
