Palazzo Cornaggia
Palazzo Cornaggia stands on Via Cappuccio in Milan as a three-storey neoclassical building. Its restrained façade carries simply framed windows, an arched portal, and a stone base that breaks the regular pattern.
The palazzo began in the Thirteenth Century, but only one ground-floor window survives from that structure. A complete renovation in the late Eighteenth Century brought the Piermarini-era neoclassical style to its exterior. Two courtyards organise the interior, where vaulted ground-floor rooms carry stucco decoration and the first floor has coffered ceilings. During the Nineteenth Century, Giovanni Masciaga lived here and kept his collection of paintings.
