Museo Egizio

Museo Egizio brings Egyptian antiquities together with archaeological collections from Milan and other ancient cultures. In its Egyptian sections, you encounter a Greco-Roman mummy, stone sarcophagi and papyrus leaves from the Book of the Dead. These objects reveal funerary practices and beliefs that shaped life in ancient Egypt. Greek and Etruscan artefacts widen the view across the Mediterranean world.

The Milanese collections turn towards Mediolanum, whose history reaches back to the fifth century BCE. The Parabiago Plate offers a glimpse of ancient artistic achievement, while the Copa Trivulzio adds another distinctive piece to the city’s archaeological story. Artefacts from the High Middle Ages extend that journey beyond antiquity. Together, these rooms connect Milan with Egypt, Greece, Etruria and the cultures that followed.
