Giardino Sergio Ramelli

Giardino Sergio Ramelli occupies 5,700 square metres in eastern Milan, with lawns, paths, benches, and stone seating. It opened to the public in 1981. Its green layout leaves space for relaxation and leisure beside the paved routes.

In 2005, the grounds were dedicated to Sergio Ramelli, a young student and political activist. He lost his life during the 1970s. Natural stone paving gives the routes a rustic surface, while wooden benches and stone seats create places to pause. A children’s playground provides space for family visits. Two designated areas give dogs room to roam within the grounds.

Norway maple, sweetgum, black poplar, London plane, and red oak form the tree planting. They provide shade throughout the green space. Butterfly bush and holly osmanthus add named shrubs among the lawns and paths. Holly osmanthus joins butterfly bush among the site’s distinctive planted details.
