Casa Formenti

Casa Formenti stands at Via Dante 9 in central Milan, combining residential and commercial spaces within historic architecture. Carlo Formenti designed the building for the Cassa di Sovvenzioni ai costruttori, which owned the site.

Completed in 1891, the structure reflects a decorative pattern found along Via Dante, with alternating levels of detail. White and red marble create the facade’s strongest visual contrast. The first floor carries a long balcony and windows beneath curved pediments supported by candelabra-like columns.

The third floor continues the display with windows topped by broken triangular pediments. Simpler decoration on the second and fourth floors makes the richer details above and below stand out.
