Edificio E

Named Historia del pueblo mexicano a través de su vida constitucional, the work presents Mexican history from pre-Hispanic times through contemporary Mexico. Its central focus is the constitutional development of Mexico. Scenes refer to the colonial era, independence, changing constitutions, historical figures, events and national symbols. These images connect Mexican law with national identity.

The mural places visual storytelling inside a government institution where representatives discuss and pass laws. People encounter Mexico’s history inside the lobby. Edificio E brings architecture, public art and government together through one work about the country’s constitutional life. Guillermo Ceniceros continues Mexico’s mural tradition within Edificio E.
