Palais de l'Europe
Palais de l'Europe stands in central Menton, near public transport, a shuttle stop, and the Mediterranean shore. Opened in 1909, the Belle Époque building presents elegant architecture and spacious interiors.
First built as a casino, the building became a hospital during wartime before taking its present cultural role. Today, it houses Menton’s congress centre and largest theatre, including the Italian-style Francis Palmero Theatre. Theatre, concerts, dance, conferences, film festivals, and exhibitions all take place here, alongside the Menton Music Festival, running for more than 75 years.
A contemporary art gallery occupies the ground floor, while the interior also includes an auditorium, meeting rooms, exhibition areas, and a terrace. Wheelchair access, a lift, accessible toilets, and a visual alarm support visitors with different needs. The memorable contrast comes from Belle Époque surroundings hosting everything from classical music to evenings devoted to Queen, Pink Floyd, and ABBA.
