L'Orient Palace
L'Orient Palace stands in central Menton, France, where its façade presents the oriental style added during a major 1920 restructuring. It began as a small building in 1874. Nearby, the Jardins Biovès, Menton's beaches, markets, and cultural sights place this historic architecture within the city's everyday centre.
Expansion turned the original structure into the Grand Hôtel d’Orient, which welcomed wealthy European visitors for extended stays. Some guests even redecorated their rooms for longer stays. That hotel history connects the building with Menton's Belle Époque as a resort for aristocratic and wealthy travellers. Private apartments now occupy the former hotel.
Residents preserve the heritage while terraces, garden views, lifts, and apartment kitchens mark its present residential life. Visitors mainly see the exterior from the street. Guided tours provide the usual public access, while the façade keeps the oriental character that reshaped the building. The Russian Orthodox Church and Val Rahmeh Botanical Garden also lie within walking distance.
