Stadtmuseum
Stadtmuseum Memmingen occupies the historic Hermansbau, a short walk from Memmingen’s marketplace. Inside, you trace the history of this former imperial city through art, documents, and ordinary objects. Tiny dollhouses sit alongside large Baroque paintings, making the collection’s range immediately visible.
Historical documents and inventive everyday objects connect festive occasions with events that brought tragedy to Memmingen. A dedicated section explores Jewish life through documents, photographs, and video interviews with eyewitnesses. Künersberger faience recalls banker Jakob von Küner, who introduced the ware in the mid-eighteenth century. Portraits of Memmingen’s patricians show the confidence of the city’s former ruling class.
Museum on the Move lets visitors contribute ideas to the design of the displays. The historic building also participates in Museums for Future, linking local history with climate protection and sustainability.

The myTuur app is free, and once you are standing at a spot its story starts by itself.
Spots like this one are the stops myTuur strings into tours through Memmingen. In the app, each story begins where you stand: walk up to a spot and it starts, read it on screen or listen as you go, then follow the route to the next one.
What is myTuur?
