Eissporthalle
Eissporthalle stands in Memmingen as an indoor ice-sports arena with a transparent facade and an airy interior.
Its flat wooden roof rests on steel tensioning and twin pylons. Seven cable trusses support the structure, while the open facade keeps the building visually light. Inside, a 30-by-60-metre rink anchors the space.
An outdoor 30-by-30-metre rink extends the sporting offer and connects through two four-metre-wide lanes. The linked surface suits larger events and expanded ice activities. The arena replaced an older open-air rink, resolving long-standing plans to improve ice sport in the city. Three-sided, horseshoe-shaped stands frame skating, hockey, concerts, and other gatherings. Visitors find skate hire, a cafeteria, changing rooms, toilets, and technical spaces around the ice. Memmingen’s arena serves recreational, school, and competitive sport alongside public events.
