Teatermuseet
Teatermuseet is a theatre museum in Sweden, centred on regional performance history. Low ceilings and narrow rooms bring mannequins, posters, and a close-set stage within easy sight. Visible repairs, scuffed soles, and pencil notes make costumes feel handled rather than distant.
Fourteen people began gathering local theatre memories in October 1981, and the collection grew from that meeting. Props, scripts, costume sketches, posters, and personal stories now trace changing performance across the region. Permanent displays honour Nils Poppe, Edvard Persson, and the clown Miko. Temporary exhibitions explore subjects from puppetry to political poster art, including Fantasin mot makten.
Volunteers, study circles, and workshops involve visitors in exhibitions, Saturday gatherings, and small performances. A tiny theatre inside the building hosts intimate productions followed by conversations. Handwritten backstage notes and costume labels preserve the quiet marks left by the people behind the lights.
