Rörsjöparken

Rörsjöparken is the only park in the eastern inner-city neighbourhood, a compact green space beside broad Kungsgatan. Mature trees shade lawns, paths and benches, while distant traffic mixes with children’s laughter near the playground. At about 6.7 acres, it feels intimate rather than like a city square.

A three-phase renewal began in autumn 2021, adding trees, planting, lighting, furniture and more welcoming entrances. The themed playground moved to the southeast corner facing Kungsgatan after designers consulted kindergarten and schoolchildren. Ramps, tactile surfaces and inclusive equipment let children with different motor skills play together. The 12-million-kronor investment also strengthened the park’s role as a neighbourhood gathering place.

Families find the city’s largest splash pool beside climbing features, while an outdoor gym supports short workouts. French boulevard planning survives in the district’s layout, alongside runners, dog walkers and lunchtime picnics. Tree bark, water jets and children’s laughter give this green corner its most memorable details.
