Hylliebadet
Hylliebadet is a public bathing complex in Sweden, shaped by large windows, patterned coloured concrete, and views of greenery. Daylight reaches the pools through the glass. Completed in 2014 as a replacement for an older municipal bath, the building combines swimming, family activities, and wellness. Solar collectors sit across the roof above the pools.
At its centre, a 50-metre pool divides into two 25-metre pools for competitions or public swimming. Two teaching pools support lessons, toddlers, and rehabilitation. One has a height-adjustable floor, while the family area sends swimmers through Magic Eye and Black Hole. Both named slides finish in shallow water for parents watching nearby. Three smaller pools offer different temperatures beside a sauna, with fitness rooms extending the wellness facilities. Its water treatment system reduces energy loss. That mix leaves the roofline as a final detail: sunlight becomes warmth for the pools below.
