Form Design Center

Form Design Center occupies the former grain store at Hedmanska gården near Lilla Torg in Sweden. Its brick façade has tall windows and a doorway recalling sacks and carts.

Inside, open galleries, exposed timber beams and workshop-like spaces connect architecture, design, craft and practical questions about daily life. Exhibitions examine plastic-free living and collaborative objects made from leftover wood. Workshops, talks, guided tours and drop-in activities let families, children, professionals and local communities test ideas through making. Children can join treasure hunts and hands-on sessions.

The shop combines a curated bookshop with locally made glass, textiles, jewellery and posters linked to the centre’s exhibitions. A magazine café offers coffee, conversation and space for sketching. Mentoring sessions, business meetings and community gatherings support collaboration and strengthen the creative industries around the centre. The centre is wheelchair-accessible and hosts community meetings. Its Play platform extends lectures and recorded seminars beyond the galleries, while the building keeps making visible through materials and objects.
