Mirador Histórico
Mirador Histórico stands within the Jardín Botánico Histórico La Concepción in Málaga, among tropical and subtropical plants. A circular temple recalls a Greek tholos. From this viewpoint, you can see Málaga’s cathedral, historic castle, Monte Gibralfaro, and the Mediterranean Sea.
The garden began in the 1850s, when Jorge Loring and Amalia Heredia transformed farmland into a tropical landscape. More than 150 years of cultivation have shaped its extensive plant collection and regionalist design. Paths through the grounds connect botanical scenery with archaeological remains, including Roman sculptures and mosaics.
In 1943, the garden received official recognition as a historical-artistic garden, equivalent to today’s site of cultural interest. The round temple remains the clearest landmark, opening a broad view from Málaga’s greenery towards the sea.
