Cactualdea

Cactualdea is a cactus garden in Spain, spread across 15,000 square metres of terraced hillside. More than 1,200 cacti and succulents fill stone and gravel paths, raised beds, and planted terraces, with the tallest reaching six metres. Palms cast moving shadows over agaves, aloe, Canary Island spurge, and both columnar and globe-shaped cacti.

Founded by the Beisel family in 1995, the garden combines exotic and local succulents with water features, an amphitheatre, and an artificial volcanic display. A short flight of steps leads into the main garden, while a sculpted cave offers a closer look at the arranged landscape. Peacocks, ducks, tortoises, and a donkey move among the plantings, adding life to the carefully staged setting.

Uneven ground and steep stretches shape the visit, and the main routes are not fully suitable for pushchairs or mobility scooters. The recommended loop takes about an hour, with parking and toilets near the entrance. Look up before leaving: the six-metre cactus rises above the terraces like a tall green column.
