Panoramablick Schwangau
Panoramablick Schwangau is a viewpoint along a hiking trail in Hohenschwangau, surrounded by forests, meadows, and Bavarian mountains. From here, you can see Neuschwanstein Castle, Hohenschwangau Castle, Alpsee Lake, and the distant Alps. A marked circular route connects these views across roughly three kilometres and 200 metres of elevation.
Neuschwanstein rises above the village on a rugged hill, with nineteenth-century towers, spires, and enclosed courtyards. King Ludwig II of Bavaria commissioned the castle, while Hohenschwangau Castle recalls where he spent much of his childhood. The path also reaches Marienbrücke, a pedestrian bridge about 90 metres above the Pöllat Gorge. From its span, Neuschwanstein appears against the surrounding mountains and forest.
Shaded woodland, open grassland, and rocky sections shape the walk, with deer, foxes, and birds sometimes visible nearby. Houses in Hohenschwangau add painted façades created with the Bavarian Lüftlmalerei tradition.
