Museum der Illusionen
Museum der Illusionen stands on the ground floor of an office building in Hamburg, a few minutes from the main railway station. Interactive optical and sensory exhibits invite children and adults to test how their perception handles impossible scenes.
The Ames Room changes apparent size, making adults look miniature, while the Vortex Tunnel surrounds you with rotating wall lights. Mirrors produce endless reflections, moving images unsettle your vision, and hidden patterns reveal three-dimensional figures. Puzzles and brain games add spatial challenges, while ceiling-mounted furniture creates a memorable setting for photographs.
The Fountain of Infinity joined the attractions after a renovation, and the museum is wheelchair accessible. One striking detail remains the moment you leave the spinning tunnel and find solid ground again.

The myTuur app is free, and once you are standing at a spot its story starts by itself.
Spots like this one are the stops myTuur strings into tours through Hamburg. In the app, each story begins where you stand: walk up to a spot and it starts, read it on screen or listen as you go, then follow the route to the next one.
What is myTuur?
myTuur is a free city-guide app. Its tours are built from spots, and each spot carries a story that starts when you get there, to read or to listen to as you like.
