Michel und Elbe
Michel und Elbe is a photography gallery and shop in Hamburg’s Eimsbüttel district, focused on images of the city and harbour. Founded in 2005 by Andreas Schmidt Wiethoff, it presents Hamburg through changing photographs and maritime views. Visitors find limited and open edition prints, with smaller formats suited to gifts or home decoration. Each limited image appears in no more than 50 copies.
The photographs often frame Hamburg and its harbour in striking light, bringing waterfront scenes into domestic spaces. Personal advice covers image processing and room decoration, while direct delivery serves addresses within Hamburg. Since 2007, the gallery has produced Hamburg calendars with high-quality photographs and limited, numbered editions. A separate calendar by John Holler preserves historical Hamburg motifs.
