Goldbekhaus

Goldbekhaus is a cultural centre in Hamburg, set beside the Goldbek Canal and connected with architecture and art. Its rooms host concerts, theatre performances, and workshops. The programme brings local and international artists together, including musicians such as Julia Schilinski and Eduardo Macedo. The Diary Slam turns youthful diaries into public readings. Adults read from their old diaries there, creating a nostalgic event within the centre’s wider cultural programme. Goldbekhaus also hosts a flea market. Stalls offer women’s clothing, children’s toys, and other distinctive items for visitors to browse. Courses include Kundalini Yoga and drawing. These workshops connect movement, observation, and personal creativity within a shared community setting. A Kultur WG with Theater Mär adds another collaborative project. The Dorit & Alexander Otto Foundation supports that partnership, extending the venue’s role as a cultural hub. Goldbekhaus brings music, theatre, visual creativity, and community activity together beside Hamburg’s canal.
