Christa-Siems-Park
Christa-Siems-Park occupies part of the Grindelberg park area in Hamburg, just north of Hallerstraße. The green space offers a quiet setting within the city. Christa Siems once lived nearby, linking this small park with the neighbourhood that shaped her Hamburg story. Its location brings together everyday greenery and a local theatre history.
The park commemorates an actress who joined St. Pauli Theater in 1946 and stayed with its ensemble until 1981. Siems performed alongside Trude Possehl and became known for roles reflecting Hamburg’s local character. Her performances included Zitronenjette, a part traditionally played by men. Radio dramas, films such as Für die Katz and Pension Schöller, and television brought her work beyond the stage. Children knew her as Oma Kluge in the German Sesame Street from 1975 to 1982. While you walk through the park, that theatrical connection remains close to Hallerstraße and the surrounding Grindelberg greenery.
