Bucerius Kunst Forum
Bucerius Kunst Forum stands beside Hamburg Rathaus at Rathausmarkt, placing international art exhibitions in the city’s historic centre. Its neoclassical building once housed the Reichsbank-Hauptstelle Hamburg. Sculptures symbolise Hamburg’s commercial life, while medallions show the realm’s three emperors.
Each exhibition focuses on a particular theme, period, or artist, connecting ancient and modern works across artistic disciplines. Displays change for every exhibition. Works arrive through collaborations with museums and collections worldwide, including the Museo del Prado, the Louvre, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Henri Matisse, Frida Kahlo, Pablo Picasso, the Etruscans, Cleopatra, and American art have all featured within this broad range.
The scientific department and visiting curators develop exhibitions with research, international specialists, and illustrated catalogues supporting their themes. The exhibition area covers approximately 850 square metres and uses international museum standards for climate control and security. A dynamic layout helps you take in each presentation within about an hour, while Bucerius Kunst Club events add talks and other programmes.

The myTuur app is free, and once you are standing at a spot its story starts by itself.
Spots like this one are the stops myTuur strings into tours through Hamburg. In the app, each story begins where you stand: walk up to a spot and it starts, read it on screen or listen as you go, then follow the route to the next one.
What is myTuur?
myTuur is a free city-guide app. Its tours are built from spots, and each spot carries a story that starts when you get there, to read or to listen to as you like.
