Bodelschwingh-Kirche
Bodelschwingh-Kirche stands in Hamburg within the Evangelical Lutheran parish of Winterhude-Uhlenhorst. The church has served foundation activities since 2000.
After the Matthäus, Bodelschwingh, and Heilandskirche parishes merged, regular parish use ended. The Evangelical Foundation continues work rooted in Friedrich von Bodelschwingh’s diakonia and social reform. Its services include outpatient care, hospice work, youth social work, and assistance for people with disabilities. Support respects individual dignity without requiring shared beliefs.
A ramp from the parking lot reaches the nave, baptismal font, candle tree, and organ. Wheelchair users can sit beside the pews, while communion avoids the altar step. The community house provides a barrier-free restroom, and the community garden has step-free access. An induction loop assists visitors who use hearing aids.
