Heritage House

Heritage House stands in Hà Nội’s Old Quarter as a narrow, two-storey Vietnamese trader’s home from the late nineteenth century. Its connected courtyards bring daylight into the compact structure.

Built for a family and its business, the dwelling later became government property and accommodated several households before restoration in 1999. That restoration opened a historic home to the public.

High steps separate the rooms, while antique furniture and decorative details show domestic life from another era. Ancestor-worship spaces sit alongside living areas filled with furnishings and objects. Artists often create items for sale within the house, linking its historic rooms with ongoing craft activity. Cultural events also take place here, adding gatherings to the architectural experience. Inside, a quiet sequence of rooms contrasts with the busy streets outside and leaves Hà Nội’s past close at hand.
