art der stadt e. V.

art der stadt e. V. is a cultural association in Germany where theatre, dance, and community meet. Local people step onto the stage, sometimes performing publicly for the first time. Performances bring together different generations through movement, drama, and shared creative work.

The association grew from projects that began in the 1990s, with Daniela Rockstuhl guiding its artistic development. Workshops and community projects help women and girls build confidence, creative skills, and a sense of belonging. People can contribute onstage, shape their own ideas, or experience the work as audience members. Traditional roles make less room here for exclusion, because participation welcomes people of different ages and backgrounds.

Local awards recognise both the artistic work and its commitment to empowerment and openness. The strongest impression comes from the combination of rehearsals, performances, and people discovering unexpected abilities together. A first appearance onstage can therefore become a visible moment of confidence, supported by theatre, dance, and the surrounding community.

The myTuur app is free, and once you are standing at a spot its story starts by itself.

Spots like this one are the stops myTuur strings into tours through Gotha. In the app, each story begins where you stand: walk up to a spot and it starts, read it on screen or listen as you go, then follow the route to the next one.

What is myTuur?

myTuur is a free city-guide app. Its tours are built from spots, and each spot carries a story that starts when you get there, to read or to listen to as you like.
