Walderlebniszentrum Ziegelwies

Walderlebniszentrum Ziegelwies sits in Füssen beside the German-Austrian border, close to the Lechfall. The forest experience centre combines riverside and mountain woodland with a playground, themed trails and accessible facilities.

The Auwaldpfad begins with a large adventure slide, then leads through dense vegetation with puzzles, a stream raft and a swing over a muddy pit. On the Bergwaldpfad, giant swings and a climbing web introduce forest animals, while the Baumkronenweg rises 21 metres above the ground. From its treetops, you can see the turquoise Lech and the Alps, and cross between Bavaria and Tyrol. Inside, the “Mein Wald” exhibition invites you to hear woodland sounds, examine insects under a microscope and identify wood, needles and moss by scent. Workshops include children’s experiments, woodcraft and water excursions.

A forest snack bar offers coffee, cake and ice cream after the trails. The Lechfall lies about ten minutes away on foot, while Füssen’s historic old town takes roughly twenty minutes.
