Gerardus Majellakerk
Gerardus Majellakerk stands in Eindhoven’s Stratum district, where its slate roofs and square tower shape the neighbourhood skyline. L. J. P. Kooken and F. J. Wolters designed the church.
Built between 1925 and 1929, the church combines a three-aisled nave, an open entrance porch, a choir, and five-sided chapels. Kooken and De Bever added the tower in 1929–1930. Round-arched blind niches, sound openings, and a Saint Gerardus Majella statue give the tower its character, while A. Troost’s wall paintings remain inside. The eastern interior retains the main choir and two side chapels on each side, alongside a wooden statue of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph.
The former parish church became a fitness centre in 2019, while phased restoration continues. A choir organ made in 1667 for a Belgian church in Gits reached the building after several moves and restorations.

The myTuur app is free, and once you are standing at a spot its story starts by itself.
Spots like this one are the stops myTuur strings into tours through Eindhoven. In the app, each story begins where you stand: walk up to a spot and it starts, read it on screen or listen as you go, then follow the route to the next one.
