Evoluon

Evoluon stands in Eindhoven as a dome-shaped landmark whose profile resembles a landed flying saucer. Architects Louis Kalff and Leo de Bever designed the building. Philips opened Evoluon as a science and technology museum, linking the building with public learning and technological progress. The original museum later closed to the public. Evoluon then became a conference and event centre, using its distinctive architecture and flexible interior for gatherings. The building houses the Next Nature Museum.

Its interactive exhibitions explore technology, innovation, and the future through playful, immersive, and sometimes provocative experiences. The museum unfolds across four thematic rings. Geosphere considers the universe and Earth, while biosphere follows life from early cells towards more complex organisms. Technosphere examines technology through houses, roads, computers, and written language. Mindsphere invites reflection on artificial intelligence, planetary consciousness, and human roles within a world shaped by nature and technology. Evoluon also hosts conferences, exhibitions, and other gatherings.
