Quadenhof
Quadenhof stands in Düsseldorf-Gerresheim as a late medieval secular brick building with a fortified noble residence. Its rectangular core rises three storeys beneath a steep gabled roof. The east façade has three axes, a central dormer gable, an oriel, and five cross-bar windows.
Built between 1427 and 1436 for Godert von Broichhusen, the residence preserves Late Gothic forms shaped by defensive needs. The Quad von Raede family acquired the estate through marriage in 1458. A Baroque roof turret crowns the gabled roof above the older brick structure.
The brick walls, steep roof, dormer gable, and oriel show how a noble residence combined defence with formal design. Four windows line the east side beside the oriel. Above the entrance, a fifteenth-century cross-bar window adds a precise medieval detail.
