Auferstehungskirche
Auferstehungskirche stands in Düsseldorf-Oberkassel as a Jugendstil church built between 1913 and 1914. Rudolf Wilhelm Verheyen and Julius Stobbe shaped the hall building with galleries, a high Baroque gable, and an octagonal tower with a musicians’ gallery. Unplastered brick, natural-stone details, and green-glazed tile roofs unite the church with its parish house, community hall, and administrative building.
Inside, the Europa-Orgel Felix Mendelssohn brings together registers from several European regions, including Spanish trumpets and Italian voices. Built by W. Sauer Orgelbau in 2004, the instrument has 65 registers across three manuals and a pedal, with mechanical and electrical actions. A protected monument, the church also hosts tower music on Christmas Eve, when its octagonal tower becomes a gathering point for people of all ages.
