Bäuerlinsturm
Bäuerlinsturm rises in Dinkelsbühl, Bavaria, beside the bank of the Wörnitz, within the city’s preserved medieval setting. Its upper floor shows distinctive half-timbering above the masonry. The tower carries a steeply hipped gable roof, giving the riverside view a sharply defined silhouette. Sixteenth-century construction anchors its present appearance.
Dinkelsbühl’s historic streets and buildings preserve a medieval townscape around the riverside landmark. Hans Bäuerlin, a tower guard and tanner, gave his name to the structure. Two working roles meet inside this compact building: watchtower and residence. The combination reflects how such towers served everyday life as well as protection. The Wörnitz flows directly beside it, adding water, masonry, timber and roofline to one view.
