Ex stazione di Albate-Camerlata
Ex stazione di Albate-Camerlata stands in Como, Lombardy, as a former railway station serving the Albate and Camerlata districts. Its tracks belonged to the Chiasso–Milan and Como–Lecco lines, linking local journeys with Milan, Chiasso, and wider Lombardy. The surrounding railway setting still shows how transport connected these neighbourhoods with the rest of the city.
Passenger service ended on 13 June 2021, when Como Camerlata replaced the station with newer facilities and connections. The former passenger building, known as the fabbricato viaggiatori, and the goods yard remain visible beside the active railway infrastructure. Today, the site functions as a posto di movimento, supporting railway operations rather than receiving passenger trains.
Como Nord Borghi and Como Camerlata remain nearby stations within walking distance. The surviving goods yard preserves a concrete reminder of the station’s former role in moving people and freight.
