Aero Club Como
Aero Club Como sits beside Lake Como in Italy, where aircraft move between the hangar and the water. The lakeside base combines seaplane aviation with views of Alpine slopes, villages, villas, and gardens. Seaplane activity here reaches back to 1913, while the club itself began in 1930. Its flight school welcomes beginners and experienced pilots seeking seaplane training recognised by EASA and the FAA.
Lessons combine classroom teaching with practical takeoffs and landings on the lake. Sightseeing flights reveal Como’s clear water and surrounding mountains from above. A workshop supports aircraft maintenance, while mechanics move floatplanes and flying boats on dollies between shore and hangar. The fleet includes several Cessna 172s, a Cessna 206, a Piper Super Cub, and a Cessna O-1 Bird Dog.
The hangar also shelters a flyable Caproni Ca.100 biplane from aviation’s earlier era. Buoys mark the water runway, and maintenance staff sometimes dive to replace their anchoring chains. Children from local schools encounter aviation here, alongside conferences, special events, and weddings. Water, aircraft, and maritime craft meet in one working lakeside setting.

The myTuur app is free, and once you are standing at a spot its story starts by itself.
Spots like this one are the stops myTuur strings into tours through Como. In the app, each story begins where you stand: walk up to a spot and it starts, read it on screen or listen as you go, then follow the route to the next one.
What is myTuur?
myTuur is a free city-guide app. Its tours are built from spots, and each spot carries a story that starts when you get there, to read or to listen to as you like.
