Sankt Marien
Sankt Marien is a Roman Catholic day-care centre and kindergarten in Cologne, welcoming children from one to six years. Bright rooms open from a central hallway onto creative, construction, role-play and free-play areas. Three group rooms each include a side room, washroom, storage space and small kitchen with a breakfast table. Younger children also have dedicated changing and sleeping rooms. A large multipurpose room brings the groups together for celebrations, shared activities and social events.
Terrace doors connect every group room directly with the playground outside. Grass and paved surfaces make space for bobby cars, tricycles, scooters, skipping ropes and hopping balls. A sheltered sandbox, mud-play area, climbing equipment and stepped hill create varied ways to move, while a tunnel and slide add a memorable route through the grounds. Water, sand toys, bushes and small hiding places invite sensory discovery and imaginative play. The educational approach follows children’s current interests and life situations, with barrier-free spaces supporting children and families.

The myTuur app is free, and once you are standing at a spot its story starts by itself.
Spots like this one are the stops myTuur strings into tours through Cologne. In the app, each story begins where you stand: walk up to a spot and it starts, read it on screen or listen as you go, then follow the route to the next one.
What is myTuur?
myTuur is a free city-guide app. Its tours are built from spots, and each spot carries a story that starts when you get there, to read or to listen to as you like.
