Two Oceans Aquarium

Two Oceans Aquarium stands in Cape Town, South Africa, where marine life from the Indian and Atlantic Oceans fills its galleries. Wheelchair access makes the aquarium welcoming as you explore its underwater displays.

Opened in 1995, the aquarium presents South African marine biodiversity through several distinct exhibits. The Diversity Gallery features Knysna seahorses, moray eels, and cryptic klipfish. The Shark Exhibit holds about two million litres of seawater and contains ragged-tooth sharks alongside other fish. Living kelp, giant sea bamboo, coastal shoals, white musselcrackers, and spotted gully sharks shape the Kelp Forest Exhibit.

African black-footed penguins and northern rockhopper penguins inhabit the Penguin Exhibit. Interactive experiences let you meet penguins or scuba dive in the I&J Ocean Exhibit. Children can find puppet shows and arts and crafts at the I&J Children’s Play Centre. The aquarium also connects these encounters with marine conservation and ocean protection.

Spots like this one are the stops myTuur strings into tours through Cape Town. In the app, each story begins where you stand: walk up to a spot and it starts, read it on screen or listen as you go, then follow the route to the next one.

What is myTuur?

myTuur is a free city-guide app. Its tours are built from spots, and each spot carries a story that starts when you get there, to read or to listen to as you like.
