مسجد سنان باشا

Sinan Pasha Mosque stands in Cairo, where Ottoman geometry meets the movement of daily city life. Its stone façade keeps a restrained profile. Above it, a dome and slender minaret draw the eye through carefully measured proportions.

Mimar Sinan designed the mosque in the sixteenth century for Admiral Sinan Pasha, who served Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent. It joined worship with gratitude, prayer and learning. Surrounding madrasa buildings held study in the Qur’an and philosophy, linking religious practice with inquiry.

Inside, stained glass filters light across the domes and walls, while delicate mosaics add colour to the space. Soft colours spread across the dome and walls. That single curved roof gathers centuries of craftsmanship above Cairo’s busy streets.
