Villa Halle
Villa Halle stands in Bremen’s Schwachhausen district, within the Gete area, as a building protected under Bremen’s monument laws. Architect Ernst Rentsch designed Villa Halle in 1912. The almost square, two-storey building uses clear forms beneath a gabled roof and faces its garden. A large bay window marks the garden side. On the second floor, the bay window opens towards a terrace overlooking the garden. Merchant Alf Halle commissioned Villa Halle for his Bremen property. Built in 1912, the villa reflects early twentieth-century preferences for straightforward and functional architectural design. Nearby, Oelzweig-Haus, Bremer Logenhaus and Haus Ritter share the area’s architectural setting. Bremen placed Villa Halle under monument protection in 1998. Today, residential apartments and offices occupy the historic building, linking its original form with present-day use. Villa Halle connects Schwachhausen’s Gete area with Bremen’s architectural heritage. The garden-facing terrace adds a visible relationship between the villa’s interior and surrounding grounds.
