Villa Ahlers
Villa Ahlers stands in Bremen’s Schwachhausen district, beside the Bürgerpark on Parkallee. The Jugendstil villa dates from 1904.
Eduard Gildemeister and Wilhelm Sunkel designed the two-storey building with a basement for a client named Ahlers. A small, three-storey round turret rises beside its mansard roof, partly shaped as a hipped roof. Half-timbering decorates the gable, adding a clear turn-of-the-century detail to the façade. Parkallee was developed in 1890 and contains numerous listed buildings.
Bremen recognised the villa as a protected cultural monument in 1978. A three-storey residential building followed beside it in 1979, designed by Kurt Schmidt to help preserve the historic structure. Dance classes, law offices and other services now occupy the building, while its round turret remains the detail most likely to catch your eye.

The myTuur app is free, and once you are standing at a spot its story starts by itself.
Spots like this one are the stops myTuur strings into tours through Bremen. In the app, each story begins where you stand: walk up to a spot and it starts, read it on screen or listen as you go, then follow the route to the next one.
