Klatte-Hof

Klatte-Hof stands in Bremen’s Oberneuland district as a single-storey, half-timbered hall house from 1709. Its Baroque Zweiständerhaus design carries a hipped roof, a broad gate, and horse-head decorations at the gable peak.

A well added in 1787 and a former bakehouse complete the historic farmstead. Bremen’s monument preservation laws have protected the farmhouse since 1973. Heimatvereen Oberneeland began using the house in 1990 and launched major renovations the following year. Donations, grants, and theatre proceeds funded the work, while a new roof covering arrived in 2004.

The ensemble now hosts Plattdeutsch theatre, craftwork by De Gilde, singing groups, travel activities, and walks with the Padlöpern. De Speeldeel has performed there since 1992, giving the old farmhouse a continuing cultural role. Horse-head ornaments above the gable remain its most distinctive architectural detail.
